| Our Vision |
At ACC FARMS we have a goal to build a centre for farm business management awareness, innovation and excellence that acts as a catalyst for opportunity and prosperity. We envision an Ontario agriculture and food industry that is prosperous by leveraging opportunities for beef producers, greenhouse growers, canola for bio-diesel producers and so many other local products through collaboration, communication and conservation. We envision impacts to the environment, community and lifestyle beyond current norms. An industry that is humane, conserves and contributes to energy needs, conserves and contributes to the environment and provides prosperity and fulfillment to those involved. To do this the industry needs a knowledge base and advisory capacity. Learning through existing knowledge bases and feasibility will drive successful farm business. At ACC we are developing and disseminating financial knowledge bases through projects linking producers to information and tools.Lets Talk Farm Business We encourage our customers and all producers to take advantage of every resource, training course, strategy and business management practice to help manage change and prosper. But we asked ourselves how can you do this when producers are bombarded with information? One reasonable and accessible solution was developed as a result of this project -- it is an ag-google type tool called www.LetsTalkFarmBusiness.com. This web-site was developed to help producers find solutions available locally either through home or distance information and education. Farm Energy Online While the predominant driver may be cost or conservation, a significant number of Ontario food producers and processors have started on the path to renewable or alternative energy for their farm or food processing facility. Many are curious. Some are weighing their options and a few have implemented a project and are evaluating results. www.FarmEnergyOnline.com walks the road from information to planning, financing and implementing a renewable or alternative energy system. It explores stakeholder perspectives at each stage, and provides practical tools, resources, and connections to facilitate the process. Farm Forward Farm Forward, an ACC AMI funded project, will develop a benchmarking system that centralizes and manages price data for use with a price reference tool. This coupled with existing commodity training programs, best practices, and ACCFF aggregate financial information will present multiple useable producer benchmarks. In combination with a user-friendly inter-face a powerful information/decision making tool will emerge. In addition inventory benchmarks present more opportunities to manage cash flow and optimize returns. www.FarmForward.ca |
